Haleh Moravej is the nutrition consultant and eating disorder specialist based at Claremont Hospital. Haleh first graduated with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and she was most interested in the role that our diets play in the health of the mind and body. This interest developed in her years working on her masters in medical science working with weight watchers ltd looking at the effects of carbohydrates on mood and later working on her PhD at St George's Hospital on the psychobiology of eating disorders and gastrointestinal problems (IBS) connected to cortisol levels in chronic stress.

Haleh Moravej is also an associate senior lecturer in nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is passionate about lecturing and sharing her practical knowledge of nutrition with her students and continues her research activity in her specialist subject by supervising various nutrition projects and working on healthy school meal designs in partnership with Manchester Council in her practical side of her teaching. She has attended and presented at a variety of obesity, eating disorders and nutrition conferences.

Haleh has written various nutrition articles for national newspapers and has worked as the nutrition expert with Real Radio, Calendar News in Sheffield and BBC health journalists in Manchester. She has worked on various community based obesity and eating disorder projects both for adults and children.

She is an active member of the Nutrition Society, Obesity Forum, Association of Study of obesity, Eating Disorder Association and the American Academy of Eating Disorders and Men's Health Forum.
